Tennis bracelet

The tennis bracelet is a simple flexible bracelet with small stones.

In the 1920s women loved to wear several diamond bracelets at once, but this bracelet got its name «tennis» due to the «number one» American tennis racket of the 1980s, Chris Evert.
During her sports career, Chris won 18 Grand Slam singles, including three Wimbledon championships, but apart from her victories she became famous for her style and manner of dressing on the court — she chose feminine and sometimes even lace dresses and did not forget about accessories.
One of her favorite jewelry was a simple flexible diamond bracelet.

One day in 1978, during a tournament at the U. S. Open Tennis Championship, Chris unexpectedly asked the referees to stop the match — her bracelet undid during the game and slipped off her wrist.

The bracelet, of course, was found, and the game continued. And suddenly this really simple piece of jewelry became the newsmaker of the championship, and jewelers began to receive orders for the «tennis bracelet».
Naturally, this is a rather strange way of putting on a diamond bracelet for a sports match and playing tennis in it, but the 70s was the era of disco, and then this manner did not surprise anyone at all.

This is where the trend comes from to wear diamonds with jeans or long gold sautoirs with white shirts.
The simple graceful shape of this bracelet suits both lovers of bigjewelry and those who prefer neat classics. It will be appropriate in the office, and at a meeting, and at a party, and even at a wedding.

Now only few people remember Chris Evert, but everyone knows about the tennis bracelet.
